Draft MRLS for boscalid, clothianidin, thiametoxam, folpet and tolclofos-methyl were notified in G/SPS/N/EU/142 and have been published in Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/156 of 18 January 2016. The European Union received a comment from one of its trading partners with regard to captan and therefore this substance was voted at a later stage and the MRL for captan was published in Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/452 that is hereby notified. Draft MRLS for propiconazole and spiroxamine were originally notified in G/SPS/N/EU/136/Add.1 (25 September 2015) and have been published in Regulation 2016/452 that is hereby notified. These notified annexes to the draft Regulation set proposed maximum residue levels for aclonifen, deltamethrin, fluazinam, methomyl, sulcotrione and thiodicarb in or on certain products in Annex II, III and V to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005. MRLs for these substances in certain commodities are changed: either increased or lowered. Higher MRLs are set to accommodate new uses in the European Union and in third countries which export those commodities to the European Union. Lower MRLs are set after updating the limit of determination and/or deleting old uses which are not authorized any more in the European Union or for which there is not enough data for an MRL to be set.
The Regulation reviews the list of imports of feed and food of non-animal origin which are subject to an increased level of official controls. The changes concern: the de-listing of aubergines and bitter melon from the Dominican Republic; the listing of palm oil from Ghana, groundnuts and derived products from Madagascar and lemons from Turkey.
