The Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, based on official information from the World Organization for Animal Health (WAHIS), has implemented temporary restrictions, effective from 22 November 2023. These restrictions apply to the import of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus and related products from the municipalities of Varde and Vordingborg in Denmark. The restricted items include live poultry and hatching eggs, fluff and feathers, poultry meat, and all types of poultry products that have not undergone proper heat treatment (at least 70 °C). It also includes feed and feed additives for birds, excluding feed additives of chemical and microbiological synthesis. Furthermore, hunting trophies, such as feathered games, and used equipment for keeping, slaughtering, and butchering birds are prohibited. Additionally, the transit of live birds from the above-mentioned territories through Kazakhstan is not permitted. However, for goods shipped before 22 November 2023, the decision regarding their admission should follow the usual procedure.

In this regard, since 17 November 2023, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Hajdu-Bihar and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties of Hungary of live poultry and hatching eggs, down and feathers, poultry meat and all types of poultry products that have not undergone heat treatment (at least 70 °C), feed and feed additives for birds (except for feed additives of chemical and microbiological synthesis), hunting trophies that have not undergone taxidermy (feathered game), used equipment for keeping, slaughtering and butchering birds, as well as for the transit from the above territories through the territory of Kazakhstan of live birds. With regard to the above goods shipped before 17 November 2023, the decision to let them pass is made in the usual manner.

In this regard, since 21 December 2023, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from the Thailand of cattle and other animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease, as well as genetic material obtained from them, products obtained from cattle, as well as susceptible animal species, without proper processing to ensure the destruction of the lumpy skin disease virus, untreated hides obtained from slaughter of cattle and other susceptible animals, equipment for keeping and transporting cattle and other susceptible animals, used live animals, as well as transit through the territory of Kazakhstan of cattle and other animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease.

In this regard, since 19 December 2023, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation and transit (with the exception of the goods specified in article 15.1.2 of the Land Animal Health Code of the WOAH) to the territory of Kazakhstan from the regions of Podlaskie and Lublin Voivodeships in Poland of live pigs and boar semen, pork meat, including from wild boars, and its processed products that have not undergone heat treatment (at least 70 °C with at least 30 minutes), leather, horn and intestinal raw materials, bristles, hunting trophies obtained from susceptible animal species, feed and feed additives for animals of vegetable and animal origin, including poultry and fish, feed additives for cats and dogs that have not undergone heat treatment (at a temperature not lower than 70 °C with at least 30 minutes), used equipment for transporting pigs, products and raw materials of animal origin, keeping, slaughter and butchering of pigs.
