Letter of the Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan on the introduction of temporary restrictions on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from the provinces of Utrecht, North Holland, South Holland and Flevoland of the Netherlands of cattle and small cattle susceptible to bluetongue, as well as transit through the territory of Kazakhstan of cattle and small cattle susceptible to bluetongue

The Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports that on the basis of the official notification of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), an outbreak of bluetongue was registered in the provinces of Utrecht, North Holland, South Holland and Flevoland of the Netherlands. In this regard, since 8 November 2023, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from the provinces of Utrecht, North Holland, South Holland and Flevoland of the Netherlands of cattle and small cattle, wild, zoo and circus animals, camels and other representatives of the camel family (llamas, alpacas, vicuñas), sperm of bulls, rams and stud goats, embryos of cattle and small cattle, with the exception of those obtained in vivo in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 4.8. OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code susceptible to bluetongue, as well as transit through the territory of Kazakhstan of cattle and small cattle susceptible to bluetongue. With regard to the above goods shipped before 8 November 2023, the decision to let them pass is made in the usual manner.
