Letter of the Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan on the introduction of temporary restrictions on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from the Thailand of cattle and other animals, products obtained from cattle, raw hides, equipment for keeping and transporting cattle, as well as transit through the territory of Kazakhstan of cattle and other animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease

The Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports that on the basis of the official notification of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), an outbreak of to lumpy skin disease was registered in Thailand. In this regard, since 21 December 2023, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from the Thailand of cattle and other animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease, as well as genetic material obtained from them, products obtained from cattle, as well as susceptible animal species, without proper processing to ensure the destruction of the lumpy skin disease virus, untreated hides obtained from slaughter of cattle and other susceptible animals, equipment for keeping and transporting cattle and other susceptible animals, used live animals, as well as transit through the territory of Kazakhstan of cattle and other animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease.
