The Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports that on the basis of the official notification of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), an outbreak of bluetongue was registered in the North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony regions of Germany. In this regard, since 2 November 2023, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from the North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony regions of Germany of cattle and small cattle, wild, zoo and circus animals, camels and other representatives of the camel family (llamas, alpacas, vicuñas), sperm of bulls, rams and stud goats, embryos of cattle and small cattle, with the exception of those obtained in vivo in accordance with with the provisions of Chapter 4.8. OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code susceptible to bluetongue, as well as transit through the territory of Kazakhstan of cattle and small cattle susceptible to bluetongue.
