Following the OIE reports, ref. No. 21, Vol. 31 dated 18 May 2018, which indicates that High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) outbreak has occurred in Nepal. It is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI Disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live Bird, Hatching Egg and One day Old Chick from Nepal to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

The proposed draft conditions regarding amendments to the existing conditions for importing beef and beef products form Countries recognised as having a BSE risk, according to the recommendations of the SFDA food safety committee.

Following the OIE report, Ref. No. 26969 dated 20 June 2018, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreaks have occurred in Penza Oblast, Russian Federation. In compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses) from Penza Oblast, Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Based on the outbreaks of Nipah virus reported by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Kerala State, India, the import of frozen and processed fruits and vegetables from Kerala State, India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the OIE report, ref. No. 16, Vol. 31 dated 13 April 2018, which indicates that Equine infectious anaemia has occurred in Greece, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of equine from Greece to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Notice of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Decision No. 32/1291/1439 dated 18 October 2017 (28/1/1439H) entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of live fish from Italy", due to the outbreak of Koi herpesvirus in Italy. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 368/1291/1439 dated 29 April 2018 (13/08/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live fish originating from Italy. Based on OIE reports and reports received from Italy, which indicate that Italy is free of Koi herpesvirus disease. In compliance with the OIE Aquatic Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.7, the importation of live fish from Italy is allowed.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 293/1291/1438 dated 30 July 2017 (7/11/1438H) entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of equine" from Netherlands and Switzerland, due to the outbreak of Equine Infectious Anaemia (EIA) in Netherlands and Switzerland. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/344 dated 18 April 2018 (02/08/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of equine originating from Netherlands and Switzerland. Based on OIE reports in the last three months, EIA has not been registered in Netherlands and Switzerland. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 12.5, the risk of importing equine from Netherlands and Switzerland is negligible.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the notice executive order No. 13382 dated 28 December 2016 entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Bács-Kiskun, Hungary", due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the notice administrative order No. 34146 dated 22 March 2018 (05/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Bács-Kiskun, Hungary. Based on OIE report No. 24982 dated 9 October 2017, Hungary is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Hungary is negligible.

Following the OIE report dated 27 February 2018, which indicates that an outbreak of High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) has occurred in the Netherlands, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from the Netherlands to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the notice executive order No. 10729 dated 11 December 2016 entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Csongrád and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Hungary", due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the notice administrative order No. 34146 dated 22 March 2018 (05/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Csongrád and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Hungary. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses) from Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

No. 09, Vol. 31 dated 1 March 2018, which indicates that an  outbreak of High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) has occurred in Bulgaria, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Bulgaria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Notice of Administrative Order. No. 19500 dated 11 January 2018 (24/04/1439 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban on the Importation of Frozen and Processed Guava" originating from Egypt. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the notice administrative order No. 35875 dated 29 March 2018 (12/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of frozen and processed guava originating from Egypt, which is limited to approved facilities by the SFDA.

Following the OIE report, ref. No. 11, Vol. 31 dated 15 March 2018, which indicates that an outbreak of High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) has occurred in Mexico, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Mexico to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 89962 dated 6 December 2016 (07/03/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One-day Old Chick" originating from Sweden, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Sweden. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/280 dated 20 March 2018 (03/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Sweden. Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in Sweden. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Sweden is negligible.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 134017 dated 10 January 2017 (12/04/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One-day Old Chick" originating from the Slovak Republic, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the Slovak Republic. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/280 dated 20 March 2018 (03/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from the Slovak Republic. Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in the Slovak Republic. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from the Slovak Republic is negligible.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 120315 dated 29 December 2016 (30/03/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One-day Old Chick" originating from Germany, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Germany. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/280 dated 20 March 2018 (03/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Germany. Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in Germany. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Germany is negligible.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 224 /1291/1438 dated 6 August 2017 (14/11/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One-day Old Chick" originating from South Africa, Togo and West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in South Africa, Togo and West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/280 dated 20 March 2018 (03/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium is negligible.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/280 dated 20 March 2018 (03/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Tennessee, United States of America. Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in Tennessee, United States of America. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Tennessee, United States of America is negligible.
