The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) lifts the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Csongrád and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Hungary

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the notice executive order No. 10729 dated 11 December 2016 entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Csongrád and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Hungary", due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the notice administrative order No. 34146 dated 22 March 2018 (05/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Csongrád and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Hungary.
Based on OIE report No. 24982 dated 9 October 2017, Hungary is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Hungary is negligible.
