The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Tennessee, United States of America

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 192916 dated 21 March 2017 (22/06/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of Importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One-day Old Chick" originating from Tennessee, United States of America, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Tennessee, United States of America. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/280 dated 20 March 2018 (03/07/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Tennessee, United States of America.
Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in Tennessee, United States of America. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Tennessee, United States of America is negligible.
