The purpose of this addendum is to extend the date of entry into force until future notice.
Lifting the ban on importing seedlings of fruit trees and ornamental plants of non-host plants of X. fastidiosa, listed in the European Union and EFSA lists, under the following phytosanitary conditions:It must be proven in the additional declaration of the phytosanitary certificate that the imported seedlings were produced in pests' free areas of the bacteria X. fastidiosa and these areas must be authorized by the NPPO of Italy;Attach the result of the laboratory examination for each seedling species included in the consignment exported from Italy to Jordan, proving that all seedlings species in the consignments are free from the bacteria X. fastidiosa, provided that the date of the examination is no more than 15 days before the date of shipment of the consignment, according to the examination methods approved for this purpose;The imported seedlings must be treated with a systemic insecticide in the country of origin, and must be mentioned in the treatment section of the phytosanitary certificate;A label must be attached to the seedlings contained in the imported consignment indicating the type of plant and its scientific name.The decision will be evaluated after 31 March 2024.

In order to prevent the introduction into and the spread within Jordan of Xylella fastidiosa, the Ministry of Agriculture has suspended the importation of all fruit trees seedlings, ornamental plants, and plants produced by tissue culture, except strawberry seedlings produced by tissue culture from Spain.
The results of laboratory tests of garlic samples originated from China confirm the presence of onion yellow dwarf virus (OYDV). The Ministry of Agriculture decided to ban the import of garlic from China.
Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on 22 December 2017, regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jordan is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The following are excluded from the ban decision: Specific pathogen-free products (SPF eggs); Hatching eggs; Parent and grandparent one-day old chicks; and Heat-treated products.
The Ministry of Agriculture decided to allow the importation of live poultry, poultry products including poultry meat and birds other than poultry from all trading countries which are affected with Low or/and Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza according to the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code - Chapter 10.4. These measures are adopted in order to protect animal, public health and to sustain international trade.
