Based on the pest risk analysis (PRA) for the quarantine pest Erwinia amylovora, absent from Chile, phytosanitary requirements have been established which govern the importation into Chile of pollen of the species indicated in the draft resolution. It is also stipulated that: - Pollen of the species indicated in the Resolution may only enter through, and the relevant import procedures may only be carried out at, the SAG External Trade Office at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in the city of Santiago, Metropolitan Region; - Each consignment will be inspected and sampled by the SAG at the point of entry to ensure completion of the additional declarations and compliance with the phytosanitary requirements set out in the regulation; - Upon the detection of quarantine pests listed in Resolution No. 3.080 of 2003, or of unlisted pests identified as quarantine pests by a PRA, whether or not an additional declaration is required under the regulation, the application of phytosanitary measures will be assessed in line with the phytosanitary risk identified; - The importer must declare the genetic status of materials genetically modified by modern technology and comply with SAG regulations establishing requirements for the importation and introduction into the environment of these types of material. The Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) is the authority responsible for safeguarding the country's plant and animal health, and is authorized to establish phytosanitary requirements for imports of regulated articles entering the country, in order to prevent the introduction and spread of regulated pests in national territory. Accordingly, Chile notifies the entry into force of Exempt Resolution No. 508/2022, which repeals Exempt Resolution No. 3.878 of 2018 recognizing the production centre Micro Paradox Inc. for the exportation of certain species of clonal walnut plants from the United States to Chile, recognizes the production centre Micro Paradox Inc. and, among other decisions, incorporates and authorizes three types of walnut vegetable materials not already authorized by Resolution No. 3.878 of 2018. With the aim of preventing the introduction and spread of regulated pests in Chile, and given the need to periodically update the phytosanitary requirements governing the importation of regulated items on the basis of new information, particularly on geographical distribution, hosts and the channels of introduction of pests, SAG has updated the phytosanitary requirements governing the importation of Malus spp. propagation material from the United States of America. Following the review of the scientific information detailed in the Pest Risk Analysis (PRA), it has been deemed necessary to establish phytosanitary measures for the following quarantine pests: Bactrocera dorsalis, Bactrocera kirki, Diaspis boisdubalii, Dysmicoccus neobrevipes, Ferrisia virgata, Thaumatotibia leucotreta and Succinea spp.(except S. chiloensis, S. cryptica, S. cumingi, S. donneti, S. fernandi, S. fragilis, S. labiosa, S.magellanica, S. mamillana, S. masafuerae, S. meridionalis, S. pinguis, S. rubicunda, S.semiglobosa and S. texta), in addition to Dysmicoccus brevipes, which is classed as a quarantine pest under official control. With a view to adopting measures aimed at preventing the introduction into the national territory of diseases that may affect animal health, and considering that it is necessary, in order to maintain an appropriate level of protection, to modify the existing health standards or requirements for the importation of dairy produce on the basis of the recommendations of the relevant international reference bodies, the notified text establishes specific health requirements for the importation into Chile of dairy produce from bovine animals, goats and sheep. The notified text establishes sanitary requirements applicable to the animals from which the products originate, as well as the required treatments, with the aim of minimizing the risk of introduction into the country of foot-and-mouth disease, classical swine fever, African swine fever, Newcastle disease and avian influenza. It also lays down the packaging and transport requirements for the products. This measure seeks to update and harmonize the domestic regulations concerning the sanitary requirements to be met by the fats of bovine animals, sheep, goats, pigs and poultry, on the basis of the available technical information and the recommendations of the international reference bodies. Chile hereby advises that Exempt Resolution No. 8422 "Sanitary requirements for the importation into Chile of raw hides and skins from bovine animals, horses, goats, sheep and swine, and repeal of Exempt Resolutions Nos. 2.732, 2.733 and 2.734 of 1994, and 3.833 of 2002" was published in the Official Journal and entered into force on 4 January 2022.

The notified draft Resolution seeks to ensure the proper traceability of ingredients of animal origin intended for animal feed. It includes: - Labelling of food, supplements, additives and ingredients intended for animal feed, as well as documents for the movement of goods (such as invoices and dispatch documents) that must include, inter alia, the batch number and product quantity. The purpose of the amendment is to specify the maximum limits for certain additives such as vitamins, binders, anti-caking agents and coagulants, acidity regulators, emulsifiers, stabilizers, thickeners and gelling agents, amino acids, colourants, preservatives, antioxidant trace elements and miscellaneous products in complete feed, supplements, formulated additives and ingredients intended for feed for species for human consumption and pets, such as cats and dogs.
