These measures include: 1. Temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks and hatching eggs, poultry meat and table eggs and their untreated products originating from the Republic of Kalmykia in Russia, except heat-treated products; 2. Consignments of poultry meat shipped from the Republic of Kalmykia in Russia, before 17 October 2016 were permitted.

This is following the immediate notification to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) regarding Newcastle Disease (ND) outbreaks which have occurred in Romania on 2 December 2015.
