Ministerial Decree 204 /2016 concerning the regulation of the import of Live dogs and cats

This Decree describes principles and regulatory requirements to be applied by the exporting country and the United Arab Emirates in assuring the health status and suitability of shipments of imported dogs and cats. Health certificates for imported dogs and cats which include specific attestations are provided in the decree.
On 21 December 2015, United Arab Emirates notified WTO (SPS) about this decree as draft (G/SPS/N/ARE/66). After the reply done on the comments/ clarifications received from some WTO Members, this draft had been reviewed accordingly. The decree has been adopted, and the proposed date of entry into force is determined after six months from the date of adoption.
