The draft Resolution was circulated on 26 February 2024. The notified Resolution seeks to: • Establish phytosanitary measures for the importation of plants of the Musaceae family for planting from any country. • Establish phytosanitary measures for the importation of shipments of growing media, free of soil, originating in countries where Foc TR4 is present. • Establish phytosanitary measures for the importation of growing media accompanying plants for planting, free of soil, originating in countries where Foc TR4 is present. • Establish phytosanitary measures to mitigate the risk of passengers who have visited infested foreign Musaceae plantations entering the country and introducing Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 (Foc TR4) in footwear, clothing or work tools. • Establish temporary phytosanitary measures for containers and means of transport carrying the fruit of plants hosting Foc TR4 from countries where Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 (Foc TR4) is present. G/SPS/N/CRI/266 - 2 - • Establish phytosanitary measures for the importation of plant propagation material, such as in vitro plants, of the Musaceae family for countries where Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 (Foc TR4), Banana bract mosaic virus (BBrMV) and Banana bunchy top virus (BBTV) are absent. • Establish phytosanitary measures for the importation of plant propagation material, such as in vitro plants, of the Musaceae family for countries where Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 (Foc TR4) and Banana bract mosaic virus (BBrMV) are present individually or jointly. • Establish phytosanitary measures for the importation of in vitro plants of the Musaceae family for countries in which Banana bunchy top virus (BBTV) is present.
