The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the notice administrative order No. 7195 dated 2 November 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Notice of executive No. 33768 dated 24 June 2017 (29/09/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Based on OIE report No. 24912 dated 29 September 2017, the West-Vlaanderen, Belgium is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium is negligible.

Bulgarian report was sent on 19 October 2017, indicates that High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) outbreak was occurred in Dobrich Region, Bulgaria. It is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI Disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live Bird, Hatching Egg and One day Old Chick from Dobrich Region, Bulgaria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the OIE reports, that indicate the anthrax disease is under control in Kazakhstan, a technical team from Saudi Arabia visited Kazakhstan and recommended lifting the ban on the importation of Live Cattle, Sheep and Goats from Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under certain conditions.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Decision No. 145/33 dated 16 October 2012, lifting the temporary ban imposed on foodstuffs originating from eleven prefectures in Japan (Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gun-ma, Fukushima Dai-ichi, Miyagi, Yamagata, Niigata Nagano, Yamanashi, Saitama, Tokyo, Chiba) under two provisions.The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in administrative order No. 4474 dated 18 October 2017 (28/01/1439 AH) withdraws the first provision under Article One of SFDA administrative order (No. 145/33) on 16 October 2012, stating that "each consignment of food imported from Japan must be accompanied by a certificate issued from the competent authority in Japan, indicating the region from which the product is imported, and attesting it is allowed for trade in Japan, free from radioactive contamination or within the acceptable limits as per SASO 1542 (Limits of Radioactivity level Permitted in foodstuffs)".

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Notice of Administrative Order No. 4717 dated 19 October 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Catalonia, Spain. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Notice of Executive Order No. 23414 dated 3 March 2017 (03/06/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Catalonia, Spain, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Catalonia, Spain. Based on OIE report No. 23903 dated 30 May 2017, Catalonia, Spain is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Catalonia, Spain is negligible.

Following the OIE report, ref. No. 34, Vol. 30 dated 23 August 2017, which indicates that acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease has occurred in Cameron, Texas, United States of America, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live shrimp for aquaculture purposes from Cameron, Texas, United States of America to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the OIE report, ref. No. 39, Vol. 30 dated 25 September 2017, which indicates that Tilapia Lake Virus disease has occurred in Malaysia, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live fish from Malaysia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the OIE report, ref. No. 39, Vol. 30 dated 22 September 2017, which indicates that Koi herpesvirus disease has occurred in Italy, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live fish from Italy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the OIE report, ref. No. 39, Vol. 30 dated 24 September 2017, which indicates that Tilapia Lake Virus disease has occurred in Thailand, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of live fish from Thailand to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the OIE report, Ref. No. 24684 dated 4 September 2017, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreaks have occurred in Nueva Ecija, Philippines. In compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses) from Nueva Ecija, Philippines to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 101618 dated 14 December 2016 (15/03/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One day Old Chick" originating from Hungary, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Hungary. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/3 dated 25 September 2017 (05/01/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Hungary.Based on OIE reports in the previous three months, HPAI has not been registered in Hungary. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Hungary is negligible.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 25/1074/1438 dated 29 March 2017 (1/07/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One day Old Chick" originating from Krapinsko-Zagorsk, Croatia, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Krapinsko-Zagorsk, Croatia. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/3 dated 25 September 2017 (05/01/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Krapinsko-Zagorsk, Croatia, Based on OIE reports in the previous three months, HPAI has not been registered in Krapinsko‑Zagorsk, Croatia. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Krapinsko‑Zagorsk, Croatia is negligible.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, water and agriculture issued the Decision No. 128193 dated 4 January 2017 (06/04/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One day Old Chick" originated from Bulgaria. The Ministry of Environment, water and agriculture in the Decision No. (1439/1291/3) dated 25 September 2017 (05/01/1439 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of live Birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Bulgaria, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Bulgaria.Based on OIE reports in previous three months which show that (HPAI) has not been registered in Bulgaria. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4. The risk of importing live Birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Bulgaria is negligible.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 66740 dated 14 November 2016 (20/2/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One day Old Chick" originating from India, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in India. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/3 dated 25 September 2017 (05/01/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from India.Based on OIE reports in the previous three months, HPAI has not been registered in India. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from India is negligible.

Following the OIE report, ref. No. 34, Vol. 30 dated 24 August 2017, which indicates that a Foot and Mouth disease (FMD) outbreak has occurred in Nepal, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of FMD into the country. Therefore, the importation of live animals from Nepal to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Decision No. 41548 dated 18 September 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from the state of Tennessee, United States of America. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Decision No. 25306 dated 14 March 2017 (15/06/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from the state of Tennessee, United States of America, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the state of Tennessee, United States of America.Based on OIE report No. 24552 dated 11 August 2017, the state of Tennessee, United States of America is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from the state of Tennessee, United States of America is negligible.
