The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Krapinsko‑Zagorsk, Croatia.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 25/1074/1438 dated 29 March 2017 (1/07/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary Ban of importation of Live Bird, Hatching Egg and One day Old Chick" originating from Krapinsko-Zagorsk, Croatia, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Krapinsko-Zagorsk, Croatia. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1439/1291/3 dated 25 September 2017 (05/01/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Krapinsko-Zagorsk, Croatia,
Based on OIE reports in the previous three months, HPAI has not been registered in Krapinsko‑Zagorsk, Croatia. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Krapinsko‑Zagorsk, Croatia is negligible.
