The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) lifts the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Catalonia, Spain

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Notice of Administrative Order No. 4717 dated 19 October 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Catalonia, Spain. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Notice of Executive Order No. 23414 dated 3 March 2017 (03/06/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Catalonia, Spain, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Catalonia, Spain.
Based on OIE report No. 23903 dated 30 May 2017, Catalonia, Spain is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Catalonia, Spain is negligible.
