No. 18498 dated 7 January 2018 entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products" originating from Kostroma Oblast, Russian Federation. On 26 July 2022, SFDA has issued the Administrative Order of Ref. No. 30499 entitled "Lifting the temporary ban on importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Kostroma Oblast in the Russian Federation".Based on OIE reports, Kostroma Oblast in the Russian Federation is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Kostroma Oblast in the Russian Federation is negligible.

Following the WOAH Report dated 19 July 2022, a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreak has occurred in Wielkopolskie, Poland. In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses) from Wielkopolskie, Poland to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

No. 30499 entitled "Lifting the temporary ban on importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Penza Oblast in the Russian Federation".Based on OIE reports, Penza Oblast in the Russian Federation is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Penza Oblast in the Russian Federation is negligible.

Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued the Administrative Order of Ref. No. 73484 dated 13 August 2018 entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products" originating from Rostovskaya Oblast, Russian Federation. On 26 July 2022, SFDA has issued the Administrative Order of Ref. No. 30499 entitled "Lifting the temporary ban on importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Rostovskaya Oblast in the Russian Federation".Based on OIE reports, Rostovskaya Oblast in the Russian Federation is free from HPAI. Following the WOAH reports, an outbreak of Monkey Pox disease has occurred in the African countries. It is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of monkey and non-human primates from African countries to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is lifting the temporary ban on the importation of livestock products (chilled, frozen and canned) originating from Tanzania.

On 30 September 2020, Saudi Arabia notified WTO (SPS) about this GCC Technical Regulation (G/SPS/N/SAU/436). The updated draft includes modifications in removing the food additive "Titanium dioxide (INS 171)" from the technical regulation. This is based on EU commission Regulation 2022/63. The procedure will apply after six months from the notification date.
