Amrasca biguttula, commonly known as the cotton jassid, is a subspecies of leafhopper belonging to the subfamily Typhlocybinae of family Cicadellidae. It is a pest of cotton, okra, and other crops in southern Asia and West Africa.

Morphological Features

Adult. Body length 2.5–3.0 mm. Head slightly wider than pronotum; vertex moderately produced medially; coronal suture short, not reaching anterior margin. Face broad with weakly convex anteclypeus. Pronotum transversely striated, slightly broader than head. Forewings with two distinct spots; spot intensity variable. Male genitalia: pygofer elongate with numerous stout setae laterally; connective Y-shaped; aedeagus elongate, tubular, slightly curved dorsally, with narrow preapical gonopore. Tergite VIII with internal ridge and well-developed lateral apodemes. Subgenital plates triangular, narrowing distally, with dense rows of long setae along lateral margins.
