Lopholeucaspis japonica

The adult female body is pyriform (pear-shaped) and elongate, enclosed within a narrow, dark, elongated shield (1–1.8 mm long) that is covered with a white, waxy secretion. The body is wine-red, with the maximum width at the anterior of the abdomen. It features two pairs of sclerotized pygidial lobes, with slender fimbriate plates between them, and perivulvar pores forming an almost continuous arch. The adult male has a dark violet body, with a body length of 1014–1159 µm, and a pair of whitish, hyaline wings. Second-stage larvae (females) are narrowly pyriform, whitish, and 0.5–0.6 mm long; males are elongate, of a similar color, and 0.8–1 mm long. The eggs are oval and light-violet, about 0.25 mm long.
