Morphological Features
Adult female body length 3.1–8.0 mm, width 2.4–7.4 mm (mounted); live length 6.9 (3.0–12.0) mm, width 6.3 (2.7–10.4) mm, height 4.6 (2.0–8.2) mm. Dorsal setae medially on dorsum rather long and mainly cylindrical, each bluntly spinose with margins almost parallel and most with a slightly capitate apex; marginal setae shorter and capitate; most clear areas without dorsal setae but anterior clear areas often with 2 setae. Each microduct clearly larger than width of dorsal setal sockets. Anal plates sometimes rather elongate, with rounded outer margins, each plate with 3 long dorsal setae more or less in a longitudinal line, middle seta usually shorter, plus a short apical seta. Stigmatic clefts shallow, each with a marginal line of conical, sharply-pointed stigmatic setae, group broadening to 4–6 setae deep in centre of each cleft; each group broadly triangular, extending out of cleft along margin; 2–4 setae present between anterior and posterior stigmatic clefts on each side. Submarginal setae about twice as frequent as marginal setae, each 6.0–9.5 µm long. Legs with tibia 48–65, tarsus 43–48 (tibia + tarsus 110–140), claw 9.5–15. Caudal process heavily sclerotised, fairly short when young, becoming somewhat elongate when older. Pregenital disc-pores abundant around genital opening and across preceding segment. Tubular ducts each with a very narrow inner ductule, present on submarginal area of posterior abdomen and head. Fewer than 15 slender marginal setae between anterior stigmatic clefts.
