Praelongorthezia praelonga

Adult male: total body length 1.85–2.34 mm. Antennae nearly 1.3–1.6 times total body length, most segments subequal in length; segments III–VIII with about 20–60 fleshy setae and 4–8 hair-like setae. Head wider than long, 285 μm wide, 264 μm long. Forewings 1.6–2.23 mm long, about 550–805 μm wide, with subcostal ridge extending to 2/3–3/4 of wing length and a line of 27–50 circular sensoria along posterior margin. Legs with few setae; tibia III 185–279 μm long; claws much longer than tarsus width, each with a small denticle. Abdomen: tergite VII with two lateral sclerotized plates each bearing tubular ducts; locular pores absent on tergites and sternites; segment IX elongate, about 256 μm long, with about 40 fleshy setae plus a terminal bristle and 3 subapical capitate setae. Penial sheath length 200–265 μm. Adult female: body length about 2.5 mm, body covered by white wax plates with two small greenish areas without wax on dorsum; posterior part with elongated wax rods forming an egg sac.
