However, the notified Decree establishes exceptional measures that authorize: - Imports of day-old chicks and hatching eggs from parent and grandparent stocks coming from areas recognized by the OIE as free from highly pathogenic avian influenza for at least 12 months; - imports intended for animal consumption, provided that they have undergone heat treatment during the manufacturing process in accordance with the recommendations of the OIE. Such products must be packed in bags that must be disinfected upon arrival in Madagascar.
