The notified Resolution recognizes the Fall Creek Farm & Nursery Inc. production centre, which is located at 39318 Jasper-Lowell Road, Lowell, Oregon 97452, United States, for the shipment of in vitro material of Vaccinium spp. (blueberries) to Chile. It also authorizes the Microplant Nurseries, Inc. production centre, which is located at 11888 Treco Ln. NE Gervais, Oregon 97026, to carry out the in vitro multiplication process of blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) plant material, originating exclusively from the SAG-recognized centre, Fall Creek Farm & Nursery, Inc. The notified amendment seeks to facilitate the importation of fresh pineapples of any origin. It is noted that: The presence of the pest Diaspis boisduvalii has been reported in the country, therefore, it has been removed from Resolution No. 3.080 of 2003 establishing regionalization criteria in relation to quarantine pests for Chile. The national plant protection organizations (NPPOs) of countries that produce and export fresh Ananas spp. have a period of one year to carry out the relevant procedures for the validation of the phytosanitary certification process by the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), a period that was set to expire in October 2025. The application of a phytosanitary measure is authorized in the event that live insects from the families Pseudococcidae and Diaspididae, at any stage of development, are detected during inspections by SAG at authorized points of entry into Chile.Further details can be found in the document attached to this notification.
The notified document amends Resolution No. 655 of 2024 establishing requirements for the importation into Chile of plant material as in vitro tissue cultures, as follows: Genera/species not previously covered under the Resolution, but which have a history of trade or have been requested by users after its issuance: Aloe spp., Athyrium spp., Bergenia spp., Eustoma spp., Kniphofia spp., Lavandula spp., Liriope muscari, Monstera spp., Musa spp., Pelargonium spp., Peperomia spp., Prunus munsoniana, Salvia spp., Sambucus nigra and Vanda spp. Article No. 20 has been added: "The Phytosanitary Certificate must explicitly state the scientific name of the species being exported to Chile when it belongs to a genus that includes species subject to different import requirements."Further details can be found in the document attached to this notification.
The notified Resolution establishes the following measures for the entire territory of the Federative Republic of Brazil, following an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the municipality of Montenegro, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS).- The importation of the following animals and products into Chile from the entire territory of Brazil is suspended:a. Fertile eggs and day-old chicks (including quail).b. Fertile specific-pathogen-free (SPF) eggs.c. Ornamental or recreational birds.d. Fresh, chilled or frozen poultry meat and edible heads and feet.e. Eggs in shell for consumption.f. Processed fresh poultry meat products or products containing fresh poultry meat.- The suspension applies to batches and shipments of the above-mentioned products with production or slaughter dates (in the case of poultry meat and products) on or after 28 April 2025.- The following products may only be exported to Chile if they comply with the heat treatment requirements (time and temperature) established in the respective international veterinary certificates agreed with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA):a. The notified draft measure amends Exempt Resolution No. 8.443/2022 in order to include a paragraph on raw materials, expand the options for packaging, and update the acronym for the World Organisation for Animal Health throughout the Resolution.The original measure does not envisage the possibility that raw materials used in the manufacture of products for export to Chile may come from a third country. For this reason, a section on raw materials has been included to establish this option under the corresponding sanitary requirements.Moreover, the original measure does not provide for the possibility of using reused packaging.
