Modifica Resolución Exenta No 2.262 de 2022, que establece requisitos fitosanitarios para la importación a Chile de frutos frescos de piña (Ananas spp.) procedentes de todo origen (Amendment to Exempt Resolution No. 2.262 of 2022 establishing phytosanitary requirements for the importation into Chile of fresh pineapples (Ananas spp.) of any origin)

The notified amendment seeks to facilitate the importation of fresh pineapples of any origin. It is noted that: The presence of the pest Diaspis boisduvalii has been reported in the country, therefore, it has been removed from Resolution No. 3.080 of 2003 establishing regionalization criteria in relation to quarantine pests for Chile. The national plant protection organizations (NPPOs) of countries that produce and export fresh Ananas spp. have a period of one year to carry out the relevant procedures for the validation of the phytosanitary certification process by the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), a period that was set to expire in October 2025. The application of a phytosanitary measure is authorized in the event that live insects from the families Pseudococcidae and Diaspididae, at any stage of development, are detected during inspections by SAG at authorized points of entry into Chile.Further details can be found in the document attached to this notification.
