The purpose of the notified draft Resolution is to establish requirements for the registration of manufacturers, formulators, packers and importers of fertilizers, soil conditioners and related products for agricultural and garden use and other provisions, with a view to minimizing associated health and environmental risks and protecting plant health in Colombia.

The purpose of the notified draft Resolution is to establish registration requirements and procedures for manufacturers, formulators, packers, importers, exporters and/or distributors of chemical pesticides for agricultural use, as well as registration requirements for chemical pesticides for agricultural use, and other provisions, with a view to minimizing associated health and environmental risks and protecting plant health in Colombia.

The notified draft Resolution seeks to establish sanitary and biosecurity requirements for the registration of enterprises as collection and processing plants, processing units, collection units and importers of genetic material from species of zootechnical interest.

Colombia hereby advises that, as a result of the blockades and demonstrations in the country, the departments in the South-West are currently lacking foodstuffs, in particular poultry feed, for both production animals and pets, which is putting the welfare, health and life of animals at serious risk. The notified sanitary measure therefore permits the importation from Ecuador of foodstuffs for animals, upon presentation of the certificate of product registration issued by the Ecuadorian health authority.

The notified draft Resolution establishes the pesticide maximum residue levels (MRLs) in food and beverages for human consumption and in feed and fodder.

The notified regulatory measure establishes the sanitary requirements to be met by packaged drinking water and ice for human consumption that are manufactured, processed, packaged, stored, transported, imported and marketed in Colombian territory, with the aim of ensuring that the products are safe and protecting and preventing any possible damage to human health.

The notified draft Resolution establishes the sanitary, safety and animal welfare requirements for obtaining certification as an exporting establishment of live bovine and bubaline animals and of those to be slaughtered for the export of meat, as well as for the transport of the animals to be exported or slaughtered for the export of meat.
