This draft technical regulation is concerned with the maximum shelf life permitted for food products likely to perish under appropriate packaging and specific storage conditions. It also establishes the most important requirements for shelf life labelling of all food products.

Following the OIE reports, ref. No. 36, Vol. 33 dated 3 September 2020, which indicates that African horse sickness has occurred in Malaysia. It is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the Disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of Equine from Malaysia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the OIE reports, ref. No. 14, Vol. 33 dated 2 April 2020, which indicates that African horse sickness has occurred in Thailand. It is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the Disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of Equine from Thailand to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

No. 9826 dated 5 December 2016 (06/03/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Skåne län, Sweden" due to the Outbreaks of HPAI.The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the administrative order No. 32823 dated 17 August 2020 (27/12/1441 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Skåne län, Sweden.Based on OIE report No. 24463 dated 1 August 2017, Skåne län, Sweden is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Skåne län, Sweden is negligible.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued Administrative Order Ref. No. 16428 dated 16 January 2020 (21/05/1441 AH) entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Lubelskie, Poland" due to the Outbreaks of HPAI. Also, on 2 March 2020, SFDA has issued the Administrative Order No. 21250, Temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from (Topola Osiedle, Przygodzice, ostrowski (3017), Wielkopolskie), (Ostrow Wielkopolski, Ostrow Wielkopolski, ostrowski (3017), Wielkopolskie), (Ferma Roscin, Mysliborz, mysliborski (3210), Zachodnio-Pomorskie), (Zalesie, Dabie, kolski (3009), Wielkopolskie), (Slaborowice, Ostrow Wielkopolski, ostrowski (3017), Wielkopolskie) and (Strupice, Chojnow, legnicki (0209), Dolnoslaskie) in Poland, due to the Outbreaks of HPAI. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the administrative order No. 32823 dated 10 August 2020 (20/12/1441 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Lubelskie and  (Topola Osiedle, Przygodzice, ostrowski (3017), Wielkopolskie), (Ostrow Wielkopolski, Ostrow Wielkopolski, ostrowski (3017), Wielkopolskie), (Ferma Roscin, Mysliborz, mysliborski (3210), Zachodnio-Pomorskie), (Zalesie, Dabie, kolski (3009), Wielkopolskie), (Slaborowice, Ostrow Wielkopolski, ostrowski (3017), Wielkopolskie) and (Strupice, Chojnow, legnicki (0209), Dolnoslaskie) in Poland. Based on OIE reports No. 34342 and 34338 dated 13 May 2020, Poland is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Poland is negligible.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Administrative Order of Saudi Food and Drug Authority Ref. No. 17283 dated 26 January 2020 (01/06/1441 AH) entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Buhakiv, Nemyriv, Vinnitsa in Ukraine". The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the administrative order No. 29037 dated 22 June 2020 (1/11/1441AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Buhakiv, Nemyriv, Vinnitsa in Ukraine.Based on OIE reports No. 34375 dated 15 May 2020, the Ukraineis free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from the Ukraine is negligible.

Following the OIE report, ref. No. 23, Vol. 33 dated 4 June 2020, which indicates that Equine infectious anaemia has occurred in Germany, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of equine from Germany to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended. (The ban will be lifted automatically after three months from the final report).

In addition, product come from establishments that have been approved by SFDA. And a company with health certificate issue by competent authority in Poland, approving that product has been exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses).

Following the OIE report, Ref. No. 32929 dated 14 January 2020, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreaks have occurred Seini, Maramures in Romania. In compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Seini, Maramures in Romania to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the OIE reports, Ref. No. 32910 dated 13 January 2020 and No. 32940 dated 15 January 2020, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreaks have occurred in Ács, Komarom-Esztergom and Létavértes, Hajdu-Bihar in Hungary. In compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Ács, Komarom-Esztergom and Létavértes, Hajdu-Bihar in Hungary to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.
