According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 16 March 2023, the suspension for importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Hungary since 16 March 2023 has expired on 13 June 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Nógrád,  Bacs-Kiskun and Hajdú-Bihar of Hungary. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry    and poultry carcasses from Nógrád, Bacs-Kiskun and Hajdú-Bihar of Hungary is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 14 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

In notification G/SPS/N/THA/661, circulated on 20 June 2023, the information contained in Item 11 (date of entry into force) should be corrected to read as follows:11.Date of entry into force (dd/mm/yy)/period of application (as applicable): For a period of 90 days since 30 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (30 May 2023 - 27 August 2023)[ ]        Trade facilitating measure

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 1 March 2023, the suspension for importation of Foot and Mouth Disease in Myanmar since 1 March 2023 has expired on 29 May 2022. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease in the area of Myanmar. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Foot and Mouth Disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558, the importation of cattle and buffalo and their products under Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015) from Myanmar is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 30 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) is proposing to revise the MOPH notification concerning "Food Supplement" as follows:Clause 1. Clause 5(5) of the notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No 293) B.E. 2548 entitled “Food supplement” dated 15 December B.E. 2548 (2005) shall be repealed and replaced with the following texts:"(5) Contains the type of vitamins or minerals with maximum level as specified in the annex of this notification, and shall not be less than 15% of the Thai reference daily intakes-THAI RDIs of the notification of the Ministry of Public Health entitled "Nutrition labeling" for food supplements whose purpose as to give vitamins or minerals."Clause 2. Food supplements containing vitamins and minerals are permitted complied with the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No 293) B.E. 2548 entitled “Food supplement” dated 15 December B.E. 2548 (2005) prior to the date of this notification come into force can still be sold but not more than three years from the date of this notification come into force.Clause 3. This notification shall come into force after 180 days from its publication in the Government Gazette.This draft has also been notified in the TBT notification.

However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the area of Germany. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Germany is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 6 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 7 March 2023, the suspension for importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Republic of Korea has expired on 5 June 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of the Republic of Korea. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Republic of Korea is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 6 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 7 March 2023, the suspension for importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Philippines has expired on 5 June 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of the Philippines. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Philippines is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 6 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Indonesia is temporarily suspended for  a period of 90 days since 6 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

However, Myanmar has no self-declaration for the recovery of country freedom from African swine fever from WOAH. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Myanmar is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 6 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of Viet Nam. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into  the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Viet Nam is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 6 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 7 March 2023, the suspension for importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Chinese Taipei has expired on 5 June 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the area of Chinese Taipei. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Chinese Taipei is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 6 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette. Except the feathers and down of poultry that have been processed in the approved establishment by the DLD and these commoditiesthat  have been processed to ensure the destruction of avian influenza virus recommended by WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code topics 10.4.22 and 10.4.23 which use one of the following methods:washed and steam-dried at 100 ºC for 30 minutes;fumigation with formalin (10% formaldehyde) for 8 hours;irradiation with a dose of 20 kilogray.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 7 March 2023, the suspension for importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Poland has expired on 5 June 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of Poland. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country.  By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Poland is temporarily suspended for a period of  90 days since 6 June 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 1 March 2023, the suspension for importation of Foot and Mouth Disease in Myanmar since 1 March 2023 has expired on 29 May 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease in the area of Myanmar. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Foot and Mouth Disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558, the importation of goat and sheep and their products under Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015) from Myanmar is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 30 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

The notification entitled "Draft Notification of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Re: Specification of plants from certain sources as prohibited articles, of exceptions and conditions under the Plant Quarantine Act B.E. 2507 (No. ..) B.E. …. (….)" has been previously notified by the Department of Agriculture (DOA), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in G/SPS/N/THA/614 dated 25 January 2023.To prevent the introduction of quarantine pests to Thailand, the Department of Agriculture proposes the draft Notification of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives stipulates that fresh fruits in the genus Vaccinium imported from all countries are considered prohibited articles. According to Article 8 of the Plant Quarantine Act B.E. 2507 (1964) and amended, the importation of prohibited articles must be permitted, accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate, subjected to pest risk analysis, and comply with the criteria, procedures, and conditions stipulated by the Director-General of Department of Agriculture under the recommendation of the Committee and published in the Government Gazette. It means that all fresh fruits in the genus Vaccinium from all countries are not permitted to import into Thailand after the above-mentioned Notification enters into force.To prevent trade disruption, countries intended to export fresh fruits in the genus Vaccinium to Thailand are suggested to make an official market access request to the Department of Agriculture and provide necessary information for pest risk analysis specified in the Notification of Department of Agriculture Re: Specifications, methods, and conditions of pest risk analysis for the importation of prohibited articles dated 11 July B.E. 2550 (2007) (G/SPS/N/THA/158/Add.1) within 60 days from the date of circulation of the addendum to the notification. Subsequently, the pest risk analysis will be initiated. The phytosanitary import requirements will be established based on the results of pest risk analysis. The permission to import fresh fruits in the genus Vaccinium is also required an onsite audit of export certification procedures. The costs of the onsite audit are specified in the above-mentioned Notification of the Department of Agriculture and must be borne by the exporting countries.

Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Viet Nam is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days from 8 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

However, the WOAH has reported, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) is an endemic disease in Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Indonesia is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days from 8 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 6 February 2023, the suspension for the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Belgium since 7 February 2023 has expired on 7 May 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in area of Belgium. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558(2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Belgium is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days from 8 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 6 February 2023, the suspension for the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Italy since 7 February 2023 has expired on 7 May 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of Italy. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Italy is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days from 8 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 6 February 2023, the suspension for the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from South Africa since 7 February 2023 has expired on 7 May 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in area of South Africa. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558(2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from South Africa is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days from 8 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 6 February 2023, the suspension for the importation of bovine and buffalo and their products from Cambodia since 7 February 2023 has expired on 7 May 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued outbreak of lumpy skin disease in the country in the area of Cambodia. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of lumpy skin disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of bovine and buffalo and their products from Cambodia is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days from 8 May 2023 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.
