Batrachedra amydraula, the lesser date moth, is a species of moth of the family Batrachedridae found from Bangladesh to western Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Israel, Iraq, and Iran, as well as most of North Africa. The wingspan is 10 C14 mm. The larvae feed on Derris trifoliata and Phoenix dactylifera.

Adult male total length 1614.32 μm, maximum width at mid-region 458 μm. Head length and width measured; male eyes length 56.08 μm, width 45.40 μm; female eyes length 51.06 μm, width 42.26 μm. Antenna paired, male length 195.43 μm, female 122.33 μm. Thorax male length 266.73 μm, width 125.12 μm; female thorax length 246.58 μm, width 38.21 μm. Paired wings: male length 998.26 μm, width 213.06 μm; female wings length 998.26 μm, width 213.06 μm. Abdominal region male length 874.68 μm, width 235.80 μm; female abdomen length 811.13 μm, width 216.68 μm. Larvae light yellow; 1st stage more elongated, 4th and 5th stages thicker light yellow. Larval body lengths: male 1st 0.9 mm, 2nd 1.4 mm, 3rd 1.9 mm, 4th 1.6 mm, 5th 1.2 mm; female 1st 0.8 mm, 2nd 1.2 mm, 3rd 1.5 mm, 4th 0.9 mm, 5th 0.8 mm. Head and prothorax light brown, rest of body translucent white.
