Rhizoecus falcifer

Adult male. Body about 935 µm long, macropterous, wings hyaline, about 1025 µm long and 365 µm wide (ratio of length to width 1:0.35). Antennae with flagellar segments binodal or bottle-shaped, each node with a ring of fleshy setae; segment VIII with an antennal bristle. Head with 8 or 9 hair-like dorsal setae on each side, each 33–50 µm long; with a pair of loculate pores (each about 9 µm wide, possibly 6 loculi). Pronotum possibly represented by a small, narrow, transverse sclerotisation medially. Mesothorax: prescutum oval to rectangular, about 70 µm long, 100 µm wide; mesothoracic spiracle width 16–17 µm. Metathorax: metathoracic spiracle width 16–18 µm. Legs: tibia III about 104 µm long, ratio of tibia III to tarsus III 1:0.47; tarsal digitules long and setose; claw digitules setose, finely pointed, each 25 µm long. Abdomen: segments I–VII with tergites and sternites lightly sclerotised; dorsal setae in lines of 4–6 robust hair-like setae on each side, each 20–25 µm long. Penial sheath 126 µm long, 100 µm wide at base, with a strong constriction about half-way along length; aedeagus about 105 µm long and 12 µm wide, with sharply pointed apex.
