Aegopsis bolboceridus

Body length 25.4–34.8 mm (including cephalic horns to elytral apices) in major males, 17.9–22.6 mm in females; pronotal width 12.1–15.5 mm in males, 9.2–11.6 mm in females. Body color shared between small-horned males and females. Head: clypeus round, strongly concave from frontoclypeal suture to apex in males, slightly concave in females; punctures larger and denser on clypeus, with wrinkles in front of tubercles; ocular canthi convex anteriorly, concave posteriorly, tip round. Major males with cephalic horns about 2–4 times longer than vertex; thoracic horn short, tuberculate, not crossing anterior margin of pronotum nor vertex in small males, but in major males crossing anterior margin of pronotum almost 2.5 times vertex length, apex slightly downturned. Labrum setose, concave at middle, sides round; mentum subrectangular, sides strongly convex, carina absent. Pronotum bordered, disc weakly convex, distinctly punctate. Surface glabrous, densely covered by large ocellate punctures and fine annular punctures, microsculpture slightly wrinkled. Protibial surface punctate dorsally, with two setose striae. Pygidium 2.6 times wider than long, strongly convex; disc and posterior edge glabrous, hirsute laterally, densely wrinkled on edges, punctures larger and denser medially.
