Eudocima materna
TaxID: 1123336
Basic Information
Eudocima materna
Dot-underwing Moth
Eudocima materna, the dot-underwing moth, is a moth of the family Erebidae found in widespread parts of the world, mainly in tropical Asia extending to New Guinea and Australia as well as in Africa. Reports from the United States, Canada and the French Antilles are now considered to be Eudocima apta. The species can be differentiated from other Eudocima moths by the presence of small central black dot in each hindwing. The species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his 1767 12th edition of Systema Naturae.

PRJNA658216 SRX8974867 SRP278151 insect De Novo transcriptome data of Eudocima materna Antenna cDNA library construction and RNA sequencingSequencing libraries were prepared from 1g of RNA using NEB Next Ultra RNA Library Prep Kit for Illumina after depleting the rRNA using NEB Next rRNA Depletion Kit. In brief, probes were hybridized to the RNA later RNase H and DNase 1 digestions were executed to degrade the rRNA and DNA probes. RNA purification was done after the rRNA depletion using Agencourt RNA clean XP. After purification, RNA fragmentation and cDNA synthesis were performed. Subsequently, double stranded cDNA was purified by using 1.8x Agencourt AMPure XP beads. Adapter ligation was performed to cDNA library and afterwards PCR enrichment and purification was done using AMPure XP beads. Library quality and quantity were checked by using Quibit dsDNA HS kit (Thermo Fisher Scientific) and quality was checked using Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 and Agilent DNA 7500 Kit (Agilent Technologies, CA, USA).Illumina sequencing After quality inspection, cDNA libraries were denatured and diluted to Illumina recommended 1.8 pM concentration using 0.2 nM NaOH and HT1 reagent respectively. The denatured and diluted libraries are loaded onto NexSeq reagent cartridge. Cluster generation and sequencing were performed on Illumina Next Seq 500 to generate 2X150 paired end reads.
