White Coffee Stemborer
Monochamus leuconotus (African white stem borer of coffee) is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Francis Polkinghorne Pascoe in 1869, originally under the genus Anthores. It is known from Tanzania, Cameroon, Malawi, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Angola, and Zimbabwe. It feeds on Coffea arabica.

Morphological Features
Monochamus leuconotus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. Adult beetles are relatively large, typical of long-horned beetles. Females insert eggs into the bark of coffee stems or main branches. Early-instar larvae feed mainly on phloem and cambium tissue, a phase which lasts approximately 14 weeks; older larvae (three months and above) bore into the xylem and feed on the wood, creating extensive galleries. Pupation occurs in specially prepared pupal chambers within the wood. The complete life cycle ranges from 14 to 24 months depending on environmental conditions
