Carposina sasakii

Male genitalia: terminal spines of the gnathos are uniform in diameter and length, projecting posteriorly; harpe long and tapering to an abrupt upturned point, with a narrow, sclerotized structure continuing anterior-ventrally to the valva margin; juxta reduced to a small brace-like structure, narrowly sclerotized on posterior margin; uncus with posterior margin strongly sclerotized, covered with long thin setae half the length of gnathos arms; basal process of valva straight and slightly longer than harpe; transtilla very narrow; saccus reduced to a small knob. Female genitalia: basal third of ductus bursae lacks sclerotization, with distinct bend halfway between sinus vaginalis and corpus bursae; corpus bursae with two-forked signa positioned laterally; posterior margin of A8 barely projects posteriorly, ostium bursae on posterior margin; sternite 8 with sclerotized folds producing a valley extending anteriorly from ostium. Larva: prothoracic L-group pinaculum large (four times spiracle diameter), extending below spiracle; spiracle on its own pinaculum; thoracic shield with granulated integument; meso- and metathoracic pinacula large (three times prothoracic spiracle diameter), all D and SD setae on separate pinacula; abdominal SD1 pinacula on A1–6 noticeably larger than in C. ottawana; lateral seta L3 widely separated from L1 and L2, positioned close to SV setae; SV pinacula on A3–6 small but present; all abdominal spiracles surrounded by concolorous, unpigmented, unsclerotized ring free of granulation
