Leucinodes africensis
Moth
Leucinodes africensis is a species of moth in the family Crambidae. It is found in West Africa (Ivory Coast, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria), Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon and Tanzania. It has been intercepted with plant imports from Ghana and Zimbabwe to Great Britain and the Netherlands. The species was described by Richard Mally, Anastasia Korycinska, David J. L. Agassiz, Jayne Hall, Jennifer Hodgetts and Matthias Nuss in 2015. The length of the forewings is 7.5 C10.5 mm for males and 7 C11.5 mm for females. The wing pattern is as in Leucinodes orbonalis. The larvae feed on Solanum aethiopicum, Solanum lycopersicum and Solanum melongena.

Morphological Features
Adult. Forewing ground colour predominantly white, with apical half moon-shaped patch; basal transversal streak absent. Wing pattern indistinguishable from Leucinodes orbonalis, L. rimavallis, L. pseudorbonalis, L. kenyensis and "Leucinodes spp.". Frons moderately bulged, less strongly bulged than in L. orbonalis. Base of each meron of labial palps with white scales. Male genitalia: fibula long, curved, with slender base; distal sacculus process elongate, spanning more than half the distance from fibula base to valva apex, straight or hook-shaped, sometimes with side branch; valva apex pointed. Posterior phallus apodeme with prominent oval saw blade-shaped sclerotization; posterioventral apodeme with posteriodorsad oriented tapering process. Female genitalia: dorsal surface of antrum exocuticle with longitudinal sclerotized strip running from sternite 8, bearing transverse ridges; sternite 8 with anteriomedian recess, anteriolateral edges slightly dentate.
