Morphological Features
Pustules (teliosori) are hypophyllous, rarely epiphyllous, compact, tan to pinkish-buff becoming whitish, 2–5 mm in diameter . Teliospores are oblong to oblong-clavate, slightly constricted at the septum, thin-walled (1–2 µm thick at sides), pedicellate, pale yellow, 30–45 × 12–18 µm . Promycelia are tubular, mostly segmented, short and stout (approx. 33 × 8 µm), usually 1-to-3-celled, with the apical cell often lobed; 2–4 basidiospores are produced per promycelium . Basidiospores are hyaline, slightly curved, broadly ellipsoid to fusiform, 7–18 × 5–15 µm, with an apical scar

PRJNA299428 SRX1365036 SRP065108 fungi Puccinia horiana transcriptome of germinating basidiospores RNA was extracted from teliospores isolated from infected leaves of Chrysanthemum X morifolium. PolyA-enriched total RNA was used to prepare a library optimized for Roche/454 Titanium sequencing that included partial normalization with double-stranded nuclease and PCR suppression of misligated products. Reads were cleaned of adaptor sequences using http://sourceforge.net/projects/estclean.
