Morphological Features
Adult female about 5–6 mm in length, yellowish green, with up to 10 dark spots on the head and on the 7th and 8th abdominal segments. The male differs from the female by the absence of dark spots on the 7th and 8th abdominal segments, a more tapered abdomen, and wings longer relative to the abdomen. The tip of the abdomen terminates in an extension or cauda-like structure and bears 16 white waxy filaments, each about 3 mm long. Nymphs are bright brown with dark stripes on the dorsal surface of the thorax and abdomen.
