Sinoxylon anale

Body stout, parallel-sided, length 3.5–6 mm, about 2–2.4 times as long as wide. Black or dark reddish brown, posterior angles of pronotum and anterior half of elytral disc usually more reddish, antennae, palpi, legs brownish yellow. Head: frons granulate, quadridentate, with erected setae, longer on sides; clypeus punctuate with sparse, short setae, anterior margin single V form. Antennal club flabellate, 1st club antennomere more than 4 times as wide as long, 2nd more than 5 times as wide as long, 3rd expanded with a finely sulcus along anterior margin. Pronotum wider than long, anterior angle with a more or less unciform tooth, posterior angles broadly rounded; posterior area covered by dense, rounded, flattened granules, raised laterally; vestiture dense, appressed setae, longer on anterior-lateral and lateral areas; shiny, coarsely, densely, irregularly punctate, slightly large posteriorly, with sparse, short, recumbent setae, denser and clearer laterally. Elytral declivity slightly convex upper 2/3, punctuate large upper half, seldom confluent, small lower half and attenuate toward apex, with recumbent, reddish setae; declivital suture raised, juxtasutural spines inserted above or in middle level of declivity and some distance from suture, smooth, conical, acute straight or slightly curved upwardly at apices, base half of juxtasutural spines coarse.
