Department of Agriculture Memorandum Order No. 68 Series of 2021, Temporary Ban on the Importation of Live Cattle and Meat and Meat Products and Bovine Processed Animal Proteins Derived from Cattle from Germany

The Order signed on 12 November 2021 institutes the following measures for the importation of meat and meat by-products derived from cattle from Germany: 
1) Temporary suspension of the processing, evaluation of the application and issuance of the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Import Clearance of meat and meat by-products derived from cattle including live cattle importation;
2) All shipments IN TRANSIT/LOADED/ACCEPTED UNTO PORT before the official communication of this Order to the German authorities shall be allowed provided the slaughter and production date is on or before 25 September 2021;
3) All previously approved SPS Import Clearances which were not yet IN TRANSIT/LOADED/ACCEPTED UNTO PORT after the official communication of this Order to the German authorities are hereby REVOKED;
4) Shipments with ship out date after the communication of this Order to the German authorities shall be dealt with per DA Administrative Order 9 series of 2010, Section VILD;
5) More rigorous and tight inspections on all arrivals of meat and meat by-products derived from cattle including live animals and bovine processed animal proteins by DA Veterinary Quarantine Officers assigned at ports of entry.
