Standard 152.02 Importation and Clearance of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables into New Zealand

After a technical review of information provided by Taiwan, MPI has decided to reinstate the vapour heat treatment (VHT) pathway for mango from Taiwan. The VHT pathway for lychee and mango from Taiwan were suspended due to interception of fruit flies on lychee consignment at the New Zealand border.
The VHT pathway for mango from Taiwan will be reinstated, however, the VHT pathway for lychee from Taiwan will remain suspended while an assessment of efficacious treatment is undertaken to manage the risk of fruit flies on lychee from Taiwan.
