Import Health Standard Commodity Sub-class: Fresh Fruit/Vegetables Lychee, (Litchi chinensis) from Chinese Taipei

MPI is reviewing the phytosanitary measures on the fresh lychee from Chinese Taipei to New Zealand pathway and are proposing to amend the cold treatment schedule for lychee imported from Chinese Taipei.This review comes following the detection of Bactrocera dorsalis on vapour heat treated fresh lychee from Chinese Taipei in 2021. The vapour heat treatment option for lychee from Chinese Taipei remains suspended while under review.
