The Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports that on the basis of the official notification of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), an outbreak of to lumpy skin disease was registered in Japan. In this regard, since 11 November 2024, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan from Japan of cattle and other animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease, as well as genetic material obtained from them, products obtained from cattle, as well as susceptible animal species, without proper processing to ensure the destruction of the lumpy skin disease virus, unprocessed raw leather obtained from the slaughter of cattle and other susceptible animals, equipment for the maintenance and transportation of cattle and other susceptible animals, used live animals, as well as transit from the above-mentioned territories through the territory of Kazakhstan of cattle and other animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease.
