The Committee for Veterinary Control and Surveillance of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports that on the basis of the official notification of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease was registered in Burkina Faso. In this regard, from 20 March 2025, temporary restrictions are introduced on the importation into the territory of Kazakhstan (except for the goods specified in Article 8.8.2 of the 2024 OIE Code) of live animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease, genetic material (except for those selected in vivo, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 8.8.17 of the 2024 OIE Code), meat and meat products that have not been heat-treated to ensure the destruction of the foot-and-mouth disease virus (in accordance with Article 8.8.34 of the 2024 OIE Code), milk and dairy products that have not been heat-treated to ensure the destruction of the foot-and-mouth disease virus (in accordance with Article 8.8.39 of the 2024 OIE Code), wool, hair, bristles, trophies, intestinal raw materials, hides and skins that have not been processed using a technology that ensures the destruction of the foot-and-mouth disease virus (in accordance with Articles 8.8.36, 8.8.37, 8.8.38, 8.8.40, 8.8.41 of the 2024 WHO Code), used equipment for their maintenance, slaughter and processing, feed and feed additives for animals, with the exception of those subjected to heat treatment that guarantees the destruction of the foot-and-mouth disease virus, chemical and microbiological origin, as well as transit from the above-mentioned territory through the territory of Kazakhstan of live animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease.
