The Department of Agriculture (DA) issued Memorandum Order (MO) No. 16, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their products including poultry meat, day old chicks, eggs and semen originating from Dubois County, Indiana, United States of America, which was imposed per DA MO No. 03, series of 2016, due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

Based on the report submitted to the World Health Organization for Animal Health (OIE) by Dr John Clifford, Deputy Administrator, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, United States Department of Agriculture, United States of America, the HPAI virus event in Dubois County, Indiana, United States of America has been resolved. Based on the evaluation of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) of the Philippines, the risk from contamination from importing poultry and poultry products from Dubois County, Indiana, United States of America is negligible.
