Règlement N° 7/2007/CM/UEMOA relatif à la sécurité sanitaire des végétaux, des animaux et des aliments du 6 avril 2007 (Regulation No. 7/2007/CM/UEMOA on the health safety of plants, animals and foods of 6 April 2007)

The notified Regulation aims to establish the general principles and organizational provisions and procedures for ensuring the health safety of plants, animals and foods at both community and national level. It establishes health safety cooperation mechanisms and entities within the Union, and applies at all stages of the production, processing and distribution of marketed plants, animals and foods.
Its main objectives are:
- to regulate health protection for plants, plant products and other regulated items, including the products derived from modern biotechnology defined therein;
- to regulate the health protection of animals, animal products, products of animal origin and animal feed, including products derived from modern biotechnology, and to ensure veterinary public health;
- to ensure the health protection of food products, including products derived from modern biotechnology.
