United Arab Emirates is imposing a temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from Philippines, and imposition of a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat and table eggs from Pampanga in Philippines

Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on 11 August 2017 regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) in Pampanga in Philippines, the United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from Philippines. These measures include:
Temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks and hatching eggs originating from Philippines;
Temporary ban on poultry meat and table eggs and their untreated products from Pampanga in Philippines, except heat-treated products;
Consignments of poultry meat shipped from Pampanga in Philippines before 3 July 2017 were permitted.
