Lifting the temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by‑product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and imposition of a temporary ban on poultry meat and table eggs from Struga province in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

The United Arab Emirates is lifting the temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and imposition of a temporary ban on poultry meat and table eggs from Struga province in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, starting from 17 October 2017.
This follows the publishing of the Final report (Follow-up report No. 2) of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza on 8 May 2017, and in compliance with Article 10.4.4, Chapter 10.4 of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is now free from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza disease. The risk of contamination from importing poultry and poultry products from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is now negligible.
