Lifting the temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from Belgium, and on the importation of poultry meat and table eggs from West-Vlaanderen province in Belgium

The United Arab Emirates is lifting the temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from Belgium, and on the importation of poultry meat and table eggs from West-Vlaanderen province in Belgium, starting from 15 October 2017.
This follows the publishing of the Final report (Follow-up report No. 4) of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza on 29 September 2017, and in compliance with Article 10.4.4, Chapter 10.4 of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Belgium is now free from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza disease. The risk of contamination from importing poultry and poultry products from Belgium is now negligible.
