Memorandum Order (MO) No. 47, Series of 2017, Lifting the Temporary Ban on the Importation of Domestic and Wild Birds and Their Products Including Birds And Their Products Including Poultry Meat, Day Old Chicks, Eggs and Semen Originating From France

The Department of Agriculture (DA) issued MO No. 45, S. 2017 lifting the temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their products including poultry meat, day old chicks, eggs and semen originating from France. This was based on the final report submitted by Dr. Loic Evain, Deputy General Director for Food, Ministry of Agriculture, Food Processing Industry and Forestry in Paris, France to the World Organisation for Animal Health, that the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) events in France (with previous temporary banning order - DA MO No. 01, s. 2017) are now closed and resolved. This is also based on the evaluation of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) that the risk of contamination from importing poultry and poultry products from France is negligible.
