United Arab Emirates is imposing a temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on 05 February 2020 regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.These measures include:
1 Temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2 Continue to allow the importation of hatching egg from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the approved Health certificate.
3 Continue to allow the importation of poultry meat and its products including table eggs from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the approved health certificates.
4 Continue to allow the importation of heat-treated poultry products (treated meat and treated egg products) from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
