United Arab Emirates is imposing a temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from Victoria in Australia.

Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on 31 July 2020 regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) in Lethbridge in the state of Victoria, United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from Victoria in Australia.These measures include:
1- Temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks and hatching eggs from Victoria in Australia
2-  Regulating the import of poultry meat and non-heat treated products according to the health certificate for exporting meat and meat products from all from all states of Australia to the United Arab Emirates, accompanying the consignments for releasing purpose.
3-  Regulating the import of table eggs and its non-heat treated products according to the health certificate for exporting table eggs from all states of Australia to the United Arab Emirates, accompanying the consignments for releasing purpose.
4-  As a precaution, consignments of table eggs and poultry that were slaughtered after 2 July 2020 from Lethbridge in the state of Victoria are not allowed to be exported to the United Arab Emirates.
5- Continue to allow the importation of heat-treated poultry products (treated meat and treated egg products) from all states of Australia.
